Phoenix Project Youth Rising – Raymon Brown
Raymon Brown is a Phoenix participant, living in Sunnydale Community. Referred by Willie Brown Youth Center ( T.U.R.F) in October of 2017.
Raymon Brown spent most of his teenage years and early adulthood in and out of the penal system. Since we started working with Raymon, we have implemented several supportive techniques and services to avoid re-traumatization. Such as Motivational Interviewing, goal setting, and bi-weekly check-ins. Raymon enrolled in Five Keys Mobile Classroom last fall working towards his high school diploma. In addition to attending school twice a week for two to three hours, Raymon is working with a community gardening program three times a week. In the Summer of 2018, Raymon will pick up a second job working with DPW with the help of Keisha Perkins, T.U.R.F, Employment Specialist.
Raymon is determined to complete the 11 credits to graduate in February 2019 with his high school diploma and maintain his housing.
